Embossing
Embossing
Embossing is similar to hot stamping. A cast is made and by means of pressure, an embossed impression is left onto the material. The embossing may be of different depth. Magnesium and zinc casts are used. There are two types of embossing - convex and concave. In convex embossing we make two separate casts (male and female) and the material is pressed between them. This method is used with thin materials - paper, cardboard, etc.. With a concave embossing, the material is pressed from the top and becomes concave.
